Fueled by Demand for AI Data Center Products, Kyocera Reports Strong First Half Revenue and Profits

Kyocera Corporation of Japan today reported financial results for its second quarter and the first six months (first half) of its fiscal year, with both ended on September 30, 2026.
In a nutshell, Kyocera reported robust revenue and profit growth for its first half, exceeding the company’s expectations, due to robust demand for components for AI data centers such as semiconductor packages. However, profit was down for the company’s second quarter due to an impairment charge. The company’s Document Solutions business did well however for both periods.
First Half
Net revenue for the first half was ¥1,078.33 billion ($6.82 billion), up 8.8 percent year-over-year (YoY); operating profit was ¥65.60 billion ($415.84 million), up 56.4 percent YoY; and net income was ¥73.43 billion ($465.48 million), up 32.2 percent YoY.
Document Solutions Business
First-half net sales for the Document Solutions business were ¥248.18 billion ($1.57 billion), up 12.3 percent YoY, and business profit was ¥29.63 billion ($187.82 million), up 63.5 percent YoY.
Second Quarter
For Kyocera’s second quarter, net revenue was ¥552.95 billion ($3.50 billion), up 7.23 percent YoY, but business profit was ¥18.12 billion ($114.10 million), down 23.1 percent YoY.
Kyocera said the profit shortfall was driven by a ¥29.5 billion ($187.00 million) impairment on electronic semiconductor devices and ¥7.6 billion ($48.17 million) in provisions for energy-related products.
For Kyocera’s Document Solutions business, both revenue and profit were up. Second-quarter Document Solutions’ revenue was ¥126.09 billion ($798.73 million), up 10.0 percent YoY and business profit was ¥18.25 billion ($115.68 million), up 53.85 percent YoY.
