Toshiba Corporation of Japan has reported financial results for its first quarter, which ended on June 30, 2026.
In a nutshell, and continuing from fiscal-year 2025, net sales and operating income soared, with operating income and net income all reaching record highs.
The company’s Energy, Digital Infrastructure, and Devices and Technology businesses, as well as its Retail and Printing business, all recorded increased sales and operating income.
The company, which has been privately held since 2023, reported net revenue of ¥937.1 billion ($5.90 billion), up 30 percent YoY; operating income of ¥112.8 billion ($710.41 million) versus ¥41.6 ($261.73 million) for the first quarter a year ago, up 63.21 percent YoY ; and net income of ¥4,467.3 billion ($28.08 billion) versus ¥146.9 billion ($925.80 million) for the first quarter a year ago, up 96.7 percent YoY.
Retail and Printing saw a persistent impact from U.S. tariffs throughout the previous fiscal period but Toshiba said it minimized their effect in this period through continued pricing measures and restructuring.
The company did not provide a forecast, but said it will continue to accelerate measures to capture expanding market opportunities in areas such as energy, data center, physical AI, and defense.
