Pantum Selects Image Star as U.S. Distributor

Pantum International has reported that it’s selected Image Star as its authorized distributor for the United States. Printer-maker Pantum is a subsidiary of Ninestar Corporation, which is headquartered in Zhuhai, China. Image Star is headquartered in Middletown, Connecticut, and is a distributor of OEM and third-party printer supplies.

Image Star will support Pantum’s U.S. dealers with inventory, distribution, and drop-ship fulfillment services for Pantum’s full line of printers and consumable supplies.

Pantum says it’s a fast-growing printer manufacturer with a strong global presence and a rapidly growing customer base. It’s currently in the top-five printer companies for printer shipments, with 2.2 percent worldwide market share, according to market-research firm International Data Corporation (IDC).

Since its founding in 2010, Pantum says it’s achieved rapid growth in Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America and is now poised to scale its operations in North America. The company says it’s investing in US-based sales, marketing, and operational infrastructure to grow and support its burgeoning network of channel partners.

“Pantum’s product development record, robust supply chain, and industry-leading value proposition position us for strong growth in the U.S. market,” commented Kyan Liao, deputy sales director for Pantum. “After successful launches in over 110 countries in the past 12 years, we have the experience and capability to build the Pantum brand and scale our sales operations in the U.S.”

The company says its distributor partnership with Image Star will tap into Image Star’s nationwide distribution network, client relationships, IT and service capabilities, and Suite Fleet managed print program to provide best distribution support for dealers. It says Image Star clients will benefit from access to Pantum’s full product lineup, channel development program support, and after-sale services only available through OEM-authorized distribution.

“Pantum is the first new brand launch in the printing industry in many years and represents a rare blue ocean opportunity for dealers,” said Philip Crean, chief commercial officer for Image Star. “We are excited to add Pantum to our assortment of equipment, consumables, and solutions for the imaging industry. Our new Tier 1 distribution relationship with Pantum will further support Image Star clients with access to best-in-class technology products and resources.”

Resellers can now purchase Pantum products from Image Star by contacting their account executive. Pantum is accepting new equipment dealer partners for its Tier 2 channel program.
