Fujifilm to Begin Cartridge Remanufacturing in Europe

Fujifilm Business Innovation today announced the establishment of its Circular Manufacturing Centre at the Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe B.V. in The Netherlands. It says this move follows the company’s increased sales of digital color MFPs in the European market that began in April 2024. The new manufacturing center will collect used toner cartridges from printers, and will begin remanufacturing new toner cartridges starting in June 2024.

The company said the used toner cartridges collected from printers sold in Europe will be disassembled, cleaned, and inspected after collection, and then remanufactured as new toner cartridges for shipping in the European region. The company also plans to expand these remanufacturing processes to other products, such as remanufactured MFPs and spare parts for production printers.

Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe B.V. has been manufacturing various Fujifilm products for more than 40 years. It’s located in The Netherlands and collects used products in Europe and sells them as new.

The company said it sources all its electricity needs for the Circular Manufacturing Centre (CMC) from on-site wind power generation, and a purchased wind power generation company. Therefore, the newly established CMC can also achieve virtually zero CO2 emissions from the electricity it uses.
