This was a significant week in the office-imaging industry, with multiple vendors reporting lower sales and profits, and warning of a slowing economy.
Xerox expects that about a third of its XBS locations will begin offering IT services by the end of 2019.
Xerox stated that its Project Own It cost-cutting program contributed some $640 million of savings thus far in 2019.
The losses for Xerox were at first estimated to be $24 million, but were ultimately decided to be about $9.5 million.

Last year, activist Xerox investor Carl Icahn had proposed that Xerox partner with what he called “under-served PC makers” such as HP Inc.
Icahn owns approximately 10 percent of Xerox, and was instrumental in thwarting Fujifilm’s take-over of Xerox last year.
The firm says it’s leveraging its expertise in digital printing to polymer and metal 3D-printing technologies and will introduce new equipment, materials, services, and design tools to the market.
