Visioneer Introduces Scan-to-Cloud Update for OneTouch Scanning Utility—Scan to Google Docs, Evernote, etc.

visiononeer cloud scan link for onetouchVisioneer has introduced Visioneer Connect,  a set of new links for Visioneer’s OneTouch software utility. Visioneer Connect adds automated scanning to cloud-based document storage and collaboration sites such as Google Docs. OneTouch is a software utility used with Visioneer and Xerox scanners, and can be used to configure the scanner so that with just a touch of a button at the scanner’s control panel, a scanned document is automatically routed to a pre-set destination, including e-mail addresses, Microsoft Word application, a printer, or file folder, with scan settings already pre-set, ultimately greatly simplifying the scanning process.

Now with Visioneer connect, users can also set up such automated scanning to cloud-based document storage and collaboration spaces, including Google Docs, Evernote, FilesAnywhere, OfficeDrop, and DropBox. Visioneer Connect can also be configured so that users don’t have to resubmit their cloud credentials (user name and password) with each scan job. Some of the advantages of cloud-based document storage include easier document sharing and collaboration among users, and users can access their documents remotely with any Web-enabled device, for instance, when they’re out of the office, versus much less easier methods of trying to remotely access files stored on network folders back at the office.

Visioneer and Xerox scanner customs can download the new links at http://connect.visioneer.com, where they must complete and submit a form. Visioneer will then e-mail customers a download link. The update is compatible with all Visioneer and Xerox scanners supporting OneTouch 4.6 or later.

Visioneer is headquartered in Pleasanton, CA, and markets business and home scanners, as well as software solutions such as OneTouch, for automating the scanning process, and teamed up with Xerox to develop Xerox’s DocuMate family of scanners.

The company notes that scanners are becoming increasingly popular for business use, as conversion of hardcopy to digital files makes files easier to store, access, and process, while cloud computing also continues to gain prominence: according to a report from market-research firm InfoTrends, 68 percent of IT administrators report that they’re currently using or considering using cloud computing.

Visioneer will continue to release new cloud links, notes John Capurso, vice president of marketing at Visioneer, where they’ll be available at connect.visioneer.com.
