Ricoh Donates $1.035 Million to Combat Coronavirus

Ricoh Company of Tokyo, Japan, announced today that it’s donating RMB 7 million ($1.035 million) to be used for recovery activities in China in the wake of the deadly novel Coronavirus.

Ricoh will be donating the funds to support a recovery project in Hubei Province,  whose capital is Wuhan, where the virus originated. The funds will be distributed  through the Red Cross Society of China Shanghai Branch.

Ricoh will also donate copier/MFPs and duplicators to elementary and junior high schools in China, and will provide free support and supplies to its production-printer customers located in the Hubei Province.

Earlier this month, Ricoh had announced that it was delaying the re-opening of some of its facilities in China to February 10th. The facilities had been closed in observance of the Chinese New Year holiday.
