Ricoh Announces Price Increases Due to Tariffs and Rising Logistics and Materials Costs

Ricoh Company of Japan has just announced it’s implementing significant price increases across multiple product lines, including 5 percent to 6 percent increases on some production-printer color controllers. It says these increases are due to rising logistics, raw material, and tariff costs.
For its Printing Solutions business, effective April 1st, it will apply price adjustments primarily to color controllers and printer controllers for production printers, related optional components, as well as color controller-related options for A3 copier/MFPs. According to the companies, the decision follows efforts to offset rising costs through procurement improvements, operational efficiency measures and manufacturing optimization. However, the company says these internal efforts alone are no longer sufficient to absorb the cost increases. High-end production printer color controllers (such as the Color Controller E-28B, N-50) and various Fiery software licenses will see price hikes of 5 percent to 6 percent, with some products, with the EB-36 controller, increasing to ¥2.20 million ($14.3 thousand).
In the fourth quarter, Ricoh had also said that increased tariffs on imports from Japan and other Asian countries have forced it to increase prices for A3 and A4 printers and copier/MFPs
Ricoh also increased prices on cameras and lenses, and increased prices for 78 projectors models in Japan from 3 percent to 5 percent.
Ricoh DTG Price Increases
Also in August 2025, the Ricoh Direct to Garment (DTG) printing business announced price increases for its ink, consumables, and parts, that took effect in August 2025.
It said the price adjustment was a necessary step to address “a new round” of tariffs and significant increases in global supply chain costs. It said it “worked diligently to absorb these costs, but to maintain the high standards of quality and service you rely on, this change is now required.”
The price adjustment affected all Ricoh DTG ink, consumables, and parts.
