Fujifilm Preview ‘Industry’s Fastest’ Digital Inkjet Press

On April 21st, FUJIFILM North America Corporation launched its new J Press 750S High Speed Model production press.

The firm says the system is the industry’s fastest sheet-fed digital inkjet press with output speeds of 5,400 B2 sheets per hour (sph). The launch was shared via a concept video, and shown as part of Fujifilm’s Graphics Systems Division’s presence at virtual.drupa (being held April 20-23). The launch video is available here.

Fujifilm says the system features ultra-high image quality, color consistency certified by Idealiance, and over 90-percent uptime. This new model also retains all of features of the current J Press 750S for commercial and folding-carton package printing applications.

Main features of the J Press 750S High Speed Model include:

High image quality that outperforms offset printing

Using advanced ultra-high-density and high-precision “SAMBA” print heads and aqueous pigment VIVIDIA ink, the J Press 750S High Speed Model is said to produce ultra-high quality print equal to or even better than that produced by offset presses.

High-speed output of 5,400 sheets per hour

The J Press 750S High Speed Model is said to provide the highest productivity available for a sheet-fed inkjet press, and is 1.5-times faster than the current J Press 750S.

Flexible modes to increase efficiency

Depending on the type of job being run, high quality mode (3,600 sph) and high performance mode (5,400 sph) can be switched.

Improved total cost of ownership

Fujifilm says the High Speed Model makes it possible to transfer a wider range of offset jobs to digital, reducing the total cost of ownership.

Ease of Upgrading

On-site upgrade is available for new and current J Press 750S owners.

The J Press 750S High Speed Model is scheduled to be available in the fall of 2021.
