DocuWare Sees Big Increase in Cloud Customers

DocuWare, a provider of cloud solutions for document-management and workflow-automation, reports that it’s seen strong and consistent usage of its cloud-based  solutions during and following the COVID-19 lockdown.

Since March of this year, the firm states that with workforces going remote, “demand for document-management solutions (has) soared.” DocuWare grew its number of new cloud customers by 24.3 percent compared to the same period in 2019. It attributes this increase to businesses who never had a work-from-home setup, and now need secure document management and workflow solutions for their newly distributed teams.

DocuWare also saw continuous usage of its cloud platform from customers through the wave of lockdowns in the first half of 2020, with every week showing millions of documents added, and tens of thousands of users accessing their business information. Those volumes have increased 50 percent and 30 percent, respectively as of September, as even more organizations adopt the DocuWare cloud solution for their distributed workforces.

DocuWare president, Dr. Michael Berger, commented; “The type of document management solution most sought after right now offers secure document access and archiving but also enables real-time collaboration between remote teams. The (DocuWare) product can be very quickly customized to fit individual business needs, positioning it as a leading choice for small to mid-size businesses. “Our focus on usability means that the learning curve is short – a crucial benefit to any company in this current environment,” said Berger.

According to an IBM survey, the global mobile workforce will reach nearly two billion workers by the year 2022. This growing trend of businesses establishing secure work-from-home setups for their employees was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In June of this year, DocuWare also conducted a  survey with over 500 U.S. business owners and managers to evaluate how well they were supporting their mobile workforces. While 73 percent of businesses said they considered cloud-based tools “very” to “extremely” valuable during the COVID-19 pandemic, only 29 percent reported feeling completely prepared for their employees to work from home. By comparison, 18 percent of businesses surveyed felt they were “mostly” or “completely” unprepared for their employees to work from home; while 21 percent had not implemented any digital tools for remote work. These are the types of businesses that make up DocuWare’s new cloud customer profile, says the firm.

The firm also says that almost all industry sectors have adjusted to work-from-home teams, and DocuWare predicts that its cloud customer base will steadily expand, especially with new DocuWare solutions designed specifically to help manage the COVID-19 pandemic, which include an employee-screening form, and a simple mobile-friendly eform for managing office visits, which DocuWare built and released to customers in just a few days.
