Canon Inc. of Tokyo, Japan, reported today that it’s filed a patent-infringement complaint with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Kostland Inc., for alleged patent-infringement of Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 9,581,958 B2.

Canon alleges that Kostland sells toner cartridges that infringe on Canon’s patent under the name “4Benefit.” The infringing toner cartridges are sold for use with various HP Inc. laser printers. Canon is seeking damages and injunctive relief.
