Additional Epson Scanners Now Certified for Use with PaperVision

Epson America reported yesterday that partner Digitech Systems has certificated its PaperVision Capture (advanced capture) and PaperFlow (desktop scanning) software applications with the new Epson DS-970 and DS-870 color workgroup document scanners.

With these additions, now more than a dozen Epson scanners, covering all four segments of Epson’s scanner lines (mobile, desktop, workgroup, and flatbed) are certified to work with Digitech Systems’ Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software and cloud services.

“Digitech Systems’ advanced document management software and services, together with our extensive document scanner lineup helps demanding office environments simplify and streamline workflow,” commented Greg Newcomb, associate product manager, Scanners, at Epson America. “Epson’s continued partnership and achievements with Digitech Systems underscores our commitment to delivering the best document-scanning solutions and reinforces to our partners and customers why we are one of the fastest growing document scanner brands in North America.

As documents are scanned with PaperVision Capture, the embedded artificial intelligence engine PaperVision Forms Magic can eliminate manual data entry by extracting important data automatically, and companies can upload scanned documents to PaperVisionEnterprise for on-premise management, or to ImageSilo, the cloud-based ECM service. The combined solution is said to dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of securely managing and accessing critical business data while enabling automation of core business processes.

The Epson DS-970 and DS-870 desktop scanners are designed for high-volume environments where speed and dependability are critical, including human resources, accounts payable, legal, healthcare, insurance, and more,  and will work seamlessly with Digitech Systems’ PaperVision Capture and PaperFlow applications.

The Epson DS-970 is rated at scanning speeds of up to 85 ppm/170 ipm, with a peak daily duty cycle of up to 9,000 sheets, while the DS-870 is rated at up to 65 ppm/130 ipm, with a peak daily duty cycle of up to 7,000 sheets. Both scanners feature a 100-page Automatic Document Feeder for high-volume batch scanning and include a Three-Year Limited Warranty with an Advance Exchange program featuring Next-Business-Day Replacement.

Epson says the new compatibility will enable Digitech Systems resellers to pursue more complex customer workflow opportunities, particularly where speed, throughput, and security are concerns. Resellers can also take advantage of special combined solution packages to solve more complex information challenges for businesses.

Digitech Systems CEO H.K. Bain commented: “A lot of important business information is still trapped in paper records and files. The combination of Digitech Systems technologies with Epson’s new scanners allows companies to digitize these records and then extract the critical data needed to inform decisions. It simplifies information management by bringing records under secure management and making them available at any point in a business process through automation.
